My Own Ranting While Working in Software Engineering Industry

Desktop View

I already works in software engineering field for 5 years, there’s more to go and a lot of lesson have been learnt. Sometimes it does feel good, sometimes it is the other way around. Here I combine all of those lesson or quotes that I’ve create myself just for the purpose of me to recap back what are the good and silly things that I’ve been through in this field. Here it goes!!!

  1. With AI Kubernetes looks easy, not until developers, infra and devops sit together in a meeting and everyone is throwing their own book of knowledges and nobody truly undertstands everything
  2. It took me whole time to realize designing a system just in your head is bad, very bad especially when working as a team. Get a whiteboard, either physical or virtual. Discuss with people, then you’ll see lot of flaws in it.
  3. It takes time to adopt new technology. The hardest part is not to learn it, but to ensure everyone accept this technology as a new standard and solves their problems.
  4. Simple rules does matters. Consistent branch name, simple Readme.MD, simple pull request really impacts your productivity.
